What you can expect to see and hear at the Audio Expo 2023

There are three distinct sections to the expo, audio dealers in conference rooms, and static tables with audio gear on display and also three vinyl sellers with both new and used vinyl (long-play records). In addition, a private speaker builder will display what he has been working on for the past few years. A table with DIY creations will display what can be crafted with care and imagination.
These well established commercial exhibitors will have different types of music systems set up you can listen to:
  • HFX Systems
  • Thirteen Hi-Fi
  • Bentley Acoustics
  • Sky Audio
  • The Listening Room
  • Sounds Natural - this is group of dealers featuring South African manufactured audio products

Today we are able to draw on 3 source systems for music.
Well known are Compact Discs which have been with us since 1983.
Then vinyl records which during the last 7 years has experienced a resurgence, so much so that record pressing plants have been re-established in Europe and the USA. The new vinyl is an improved product, benefiting from advances in material science.
Then we have streaming. All done on-line, sources include Tidal, Spotify, Roon, Deezer, Apple Music and many more. These operate on a subscription model. The audio quality is very high. Simple, no moving parts, easy to use (either a computer or a dedicated app on a phone or tablet)
